The site was down for a long time today, but I still wanted to share with those who care a special anniversary before the day was out.

On this day, September 3rd, 124 years ago, Charles Peterson’s System Pipe, received its final patent. So, light up a System Pipe this weekend and pay homage to a great contribution to the hobby. Maybe even fill it with an SPC blend in remembrance of Joe Lankford.

If you'd like to read a fun article about the System Pipe and the way us Pete Geek's are celebrating this week, check out Mark Irwin's Peterson Pipe Notes blog.

For those who get tongue bite, the P Lip is the cure
Haha, the only time I've experienced it was my very first bowl of Wilke No. 515 in my new Peterson SH Rathbone. I'm sure I did everything wrong and that P-lip just focused what was coming out of the pipe in a big hurry on the tip of my tongue.

It wasn't horrible, but noticeable for a bit - having said that, I've never had anything I could call "bite" since with any stem, tobacco variety or age, but I really like the P-lip in a bent stem - I'm really not a fan of it in a straight one for some reason, but I only have one straight Peterson and I don't think I'll continue to own it much longer.
