I recently purchased a used pipe that looks alot like an Andrew Marks pipe and indeed is marked Marks/ Special, but the mark is not the same as the signature I have seen on Andrews pipes. Anyway, its a great smoker and a good looker. I'll just pretend its a Marks.

Sorry for no pics, I guess my thread is worth less, but not worthless. No camera.

Have a cell phone, with no camera in it. Boys I aint out to "proov" anything. And I aiint asking for authenticity of an Andrew Marks pipe. This is probably not an A.M. pipe, unless he uses different stamps, which I don't think he does. But the style of the pipe is similar to a Marks. It may even be a knockoff. Just thought it was interesting. Andrew Marks has a great website with contact info & I will try to give him a buzz (can call on cell phone). Think I'll smoke my Marks.

"But the style of the pipe is similar to a Marks."
In what way? Andrew Marks makes primarily smooth pipes that (to me) seem like classic shapes with Danish influences. Here's a Marks billiard but with a diamond bottom edge.

Regarding his maker's mark, it's a briar spot with a script "Marks" and the year it was produced. Not sure if this is a stamp; looks more like a freehand signature.

Does your "Marks/Special" have a date or country mark? Anything else that might identify its origin?
