Dear pipe smokers,

I have a question to ask.

As my research on S Bang pipes, 4 digits stamps are for US markets and it indicates the year of production and the number of the pipes.

However on my pipe shown here, it s 2004 and there s a 18 underneath. Would anyone please be able to explain and introduce me about the grade of this s bang pipe and at what grade it should be?

Thank you very much.

Seems it's the 18th pipe Per Hansen made in 2004.
"Bang pipes for the U.S. market are stamped with year and number codes and the personal stamp of the carver. The number is not a grading stamp - it just indicates which pipe it is. ...There are no grade stamps on U.S. pipes - all S. Bangs are high grade."
