An Inquiry About Brass Pipes

I recently bought for my collection a pipe that is fully made from brass, i admit i bought it mostly for the visual novelty it would bring to the collection, does anyone have experiences or opinions about this kind of pipes?

I think buying for the novelty is correct.
I don't know how tobacco would taste or how the pipe would handle the heat.
It is beautiful though, and would be a good conversation piece.

I've smoked out of brass pipes before. It wasn't tobacco. It definitely alters the flavor and leaves your hands smelling like brass.

Seen them before but feel like there is a reason they're not super popular still. Seems like they're most popular in cultures where people have to walk a lot and walk through rough terrain.
