I recently purchased this 'AMBORY' pipe on eBay. Underneath it says LONDON MADE (in capital letters). Based on the hallmark, the silver was made by Henry Comoy in 1913-14. What I find interesting, is on the otherside, it says "FABRIQUE EN ANGLETERRE" which I believe is French for 'Made in England.' Is this because Henry Comoy was a Frenchman who emigrated to London? I've tried doing some research on it but I can't seem to find out too much. I have never heard of this brand and would like to know some of the history of it, if possible. Most likely, I'm going to be sending it out on Monday to get restored.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think what you have said covers it! I would say it was made in London and sold in France. I had never heard of it either, but going by the hallmark, a Comoy's made pipe.

Thanks for the responses so far. I planned on sending it to Briarville for the repairs. I also recently purchased an Imperial ITC pipe, very similar to this one, that I was going to send also. That one only needs very minor repairs, as the seller already "restored" it.

Seller had some very interesting pipes, including several pre-war Dunhill's. I bought this 1950's Stanwell, shape 09. The seller's picture does not show it very well, but it is a beautiful straight grained pipe.

The other old Stanwell that I bid on but did not win, from the same time period, shape 03,

Both of these are not often seen shapes.
