No,you should not expect a damaged pipe! The seller does not mention any damage and it should not have any. Maybe a few dings and scratches which are to be expected with estates but no damage.

My sister came in today with a package for me her and her fiancé are spending New Year's Eve at my new house and apparently I still get mail there. As I opened the box I jumped for joy when I saw the shape of a pipe shape # 69 in this case what perfect timing it arrives with enough time for me to clean and prepare if for a 2013 smoking. I cleaned the stem with vodka being its a celebration there was plenty of it to go around. The wood and stem are in great condition just a bit of fading on the top of the stem so after a good inside clean I coated the pipe with a thin layer if olive oil and let it sit for three hours after which I polished it to a shiny finish. (Sorry ill post pics when I get up in the morning) the stem is a slight bit grey on the top still but still looks sharp with the beautiful briar finish.
First smoke(vanilla cream)
Amazing the stem design allows for an easy pull its as I'd it's made in a way that you can only sip it and it helps to regulate the speed and force at which I smoke the pipe I'm in love with this system. One con however was I noticed I was getting a lot of moister from the stem a few times I'd sip back a wet taste that throw me off for a second.
I noticed there wasn't a filter in this pipe and I wasn't sure whether the Peterson took one or not so I decided to try one.
Second smoke(filtered)
I took one of my medico filters that I have for my medico varsity and cut it shorter to fit the Peterson.

Huge difference the smoke was even more consistent then before and I didn't get any wet sipping.
3rd and 4th bowl
I have perfected the packing in the pipe and am more Familar with the way I should use it the tobacco burns even and smooth and leaves a very fine ash. Lot to do with the macberan vanilla cream I'm sure which is a fantastic aro.
Verdict
I love this pipe it is my new favourite and will be for a while I'm sure.
If anyone has tips or advice for me on this particular pipe or on anything I just mentioned please let my know I would love to obsorb as much as I can on this.
Ps I hope you All have a great new year
