I cannot deny being highly jealous of all you owners of Rad Davis pipes! :twisted: So just for fun, here's my ideal Rad, a billiard, at least 6.25 inches in length:

So far as I know, it doesn't exist, so I photoshopped this one and will keep it as a reference for the day I can do it (a man can dream can't he?).

Thanks a lot SD. For me, the billiard is a classic, and this look and design just feels like I stepped into a canoe on a mountain stream in the middle of the rockies. :puffy:

Love your idea six,kinda makes me think of a cross between a Cooke and a Rad. I just commissioned my first pipe from Rad on Monday. It's his Danish Dublin Sitter very similar to this model.

Thanks smokeybear - I hope you get one too!
@juptierspipe
Big congrats - that will be one spectacular looking pipe. Curious how long does a commission usually takes—did you get an ETA?

It's killing me six! I have been trying to convince the wife that because of this long of a wait I should commission a second pipe just so I can "avoid the wait". It's been a uphill battle but I'm making ground so I'm emailing Rad about this pipe tonight...

that one i LOVE i say do it and let me know the details cus i may get one similar to that not exactly the same obviously cause that would defeat the purpose of a commission. :)
But it is Gorgeous!!!

As popular as pipes from Rad Davis are, I'm actually surprised he can make a commission in just 2-3 months.
I thought I read somewhere that one artisan pipe maker made (I think) 10 pipes a day. If I am remembering correctly, then even if Rad did only 10 per week, that would mean 80 or more commissions in front of jupiter. Good on him if he's got that many (probably more) in the hopper.

I'm a traditionalist. I'm with you, Six -- that billiard, natural finish, cumberland stem, clean design, is kick-ass.
Thanks a lot Roth - me too, when it comes to pipe shapes, I am a traditionalist all the way.

Nice find Jupiter - I think I saw it, and while I like the black stem, my Rad will have to have a cumberland (but I will admit, the black looks good with the natural briar)
