Is the maker Italian, Polish or Ukrainian? Where did you order it from and where did it ship from? I have a Mario Grandi in an Oom Paul that looks something like that briar the rest , not so much. The Eastern Europeans are making a number of pipes like this.

I bought mine because it just hit me and I had been wanting an Oom Paul. I have never smoked it though. Has a honking bowl and I have just not had the time for that much of a smoke. I think the texture work on yours is intriguing. I like the black with some of the brown stain showing in the smooth area. That is what triggered my purchase I think.

I just bid on 2 of his auctions. 2 acacia wood pipes and 2 pear wood pokers. For as cheap as they go, its worth taking a risk.
