Most likely the pipes will go to someone interested in owning anything that belonged to Einstein rather than a pipe smoker specifically.

Even so, I'd request much more information before even thinking of bidding that much for something that's not authenticated. The pipes could very easily be Einstein's but all they have is a letter stating the current owner got them from his father whom he alludes to having the possibility of having access to authentic pipes. That's it. No pictures of Einstein with any of the pipes and the current owner doesn't even specifically state they where Einstein's pipes.

Perhaps they're not Albert's pipes, but Margots. She could of been a pipe smoker.

What a crappy collection of pipes.
Estimated to sell at $50,000 to $60,000 [Bidding is at $9,500 with 3 days to go]

Might give a few owners of real shitty pipes an idea on how to pass them on . . . .

This won’t bought by a private individual, but rather a museum or institution.
