I just picked up pipe smoking again after a long hiatus going way back to my university days . Enjoyed the occasional cigar on special outings , fishing trips and the like , but too expensive to find good cigars . Dabbling now in the variety and offerings , having fun trying pipes and blends. This is fun.

Hiya mike , I’m getting fond of my good old corncob , it seems to do a good job on those heavy , oily , cigar like balkans .
Got a fancy couple of briars to smoke for comparison , haven’t got a proper meerschaum yet except for one meerschaum lined , it’s on my todo list .

I am gravitating towards English and Balkan type blends , kinda ruled out perique and Fvf for now , not fond of the peppery taste.
Usually have a corncob or Peterson Dublin on the go
I'm down east .

Howdy & welcome from upstate SC, bluto! Word of warning -- watch out for the crazies. You'll be able to recognize them. Be careful of those on the pirate ship, though. They'll Shanghai you, keelhaul you, & do all sorts of other evil things. And if somebody approaches you with cleaning fluid, run as if your life & sanity depended on it.

I log in almost daily to see what interesting posts are afloat , great resource
Only wish it was more interactive , a few times I notice more people are online , maybe on a Friday evening, but it’s diffcult across time zones
Is there an online meetup planned , if we set an informal time would people participate ?
