It's still rainy/snowy here in Vermont, but I can feel summer's not too far off. Smoking on the deck will once again be a reality—can't wait! :puffy:

The constant breezes keeps mosquitoes and black flies away, and except for the occasional house fly that gets inside, that annoyance, common in New England, is obviated.
I too am lucky in that way. We have no trouble with black flies or mosquitos. I attribute this to the rapids in our back yard - no stagnant water.
I have a friend who leaves deep in the mtns not too far from me, he lives off the grid, with several beaver ponds around his house—the black flies around his house are unbelievable! He has a nice deck which he cannot use all summer long due to those pesky flies.

I was in Tampa for the weekend, and it was fantastic! Even got in the mid 70's here in WV on Sunday. But snow flurries tomorrow :( Oh, I wish it'd stay warm

I look forward to the warm weather, as it makes pipe smoking more enjoyable for me. I don't like being outside and being cold, so I don't smoke as much in the winter.

I hate to admit it but I've never stopped smoking outside and Ohio winters can be brutal, but yeah bring on summer and pack up the heavy coat gloves and hat,I'll move from the enclosed porch to the deck and into the sunshine. :)

I've been in waist deep snow since December, bring on the spring! I probably smoke more in the winter than I do in the summer. I can't resist plugging a pipe in mouth when I'm shoveling or cleaning off the truck.

Glad to see I am not the only one tired of old man winter! And summers in VT are pretty awesome. Warm days, not too hot, not too humid (usually) and cool nights. We usually have a campfire in the backyard on weekends. Got a nice swimming hole in the back yard and trout fishing too - really looking forward to it!

Trout fishing and swimming right in your backyard, sounds pretty damn amazing Six. I'm envious.

Thanks jeffboyrd - yeah, we sometimes have to pinch ourselves to believe it!
Snow? Here in the Galilee? It's been spring for at least 3 weeks...
Hey - don't rub it in!
