Access to Profile Difficulties

Not sure if it's me (likely) or if others have this problem: I'm signed in all the time (meaning I don't log out when I leave the site). When I return to the site, I''m apparently "recognized" as logged in because I can post in the forums. However, when I click on "Your Profile" in the "Member Login" box (upper left side of page), I get the message,

"Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /forums/members//profile on this server."
So, I log out, then log back in again, and I can access my profile area. If I read some posts, maybe jump into another program, such as WORD, then back to PM, I have the same problem all over again.
Did I p*$$ off Lawrence or Kevin?
Any one have any suggestions? Any one? Bueller? Bueller?

I am not sure what browser you are using but you may need to clean out the cookies and reset your browser cache. Look for delete browsing history and delete cookies and use them. It should work after you do that.

I use Firefox; I have the same trouble. But I just expect it now and do the "sign out and sign back in" thing.

You can always access your account from the "Your Profile" button in the "Home" tab. I have never been able to access my profile from the same button in the "Forums" tab.

Yeah I have the same problem and can't access it within the forums, but if I click on HOME or just the Pipesmagazine.com logo to go back to the home page, then I can access the Profile...I haven't had to log out and back in if I do that.
Seems like there is a disconnect between the homepage and the forums.

Ditto here on the login thing.. Have to log out then in again, maybe it related to cookies and their expiration??

@captainsousie, that does it! Works fine from the "Home" page.
Glad to know it wasn't just me. Webmaster might want to look into the issue?
And, FWIW, I, too, am using Firefox.

Happy to help. It drove me nuts until I figured it out. From a website developer standpoint, I can understand why it might be done that way though.

Guys, I have the same problem!

I use Mozilla Firefox, and everytime I open new tabs while logged in,

even if I go to the forums for a little while, I can still post, but can't access my profile!

Hey Checotah,
This come up once in a great while.

I'm not sure of the reason, probably just a quirk in the programing.

However; if you click on the "Members" in the light gray area at the top of the page it will take you to the members Magazine side profiles. Your activity should put you at the top. Just click on your Avatar, then scroll down to the bottom of your profile and you can edit your info there.
Or, just below the New Member list, just click on your Avatar there and it'll take you there too.
