Yet another eBay auction I faltered on, just forgot about it, woke up late today LOL
I'm not a Pete guy anyway, so it's no big loss for me,

but of much interest regardless.
Despite the tattiness, these don't pop up very often.
It went unsold!
Could have been yours for 99p!

vintage kapp & peterson pipe catalogue smoking (1907 ?)
If you may be interested in it, I would immediately contact the seller and throw an offer to him, it might just be worth your trouble and the high rates of the Royal Mail to do so! :D
On a side note,

I did place an impromptu off-the-cuff bid on an oddball pipe for which I probably overpaid because the dastardly RM is so $$$ and for some reason many of the UK sellers prefer the "international signed for" option which is thru the roof.
It is a rather ugly pipe, but I'm hoping it was just poorly chosen photo angles, looks a bit lumpy in the buttocks don't it?
It looks to my eye, to be from the late 60's or 70's sometime, just gauging by blast quality, which started going downhill in the 50's.

Hell, for all I know it could be from the 80's!
The name of the pipe will most likely be of no use and I haaven't even begun a cursory search because I know exactly what I will be sifting thru and it'll be loads of LOTR stuff!

LOL
I've always wanted a Dunhill Don, or even a Kaywoodie Setter, so this will have to suffice for the time being.
It will certainly be one of the more unusual specimens in my collection!
So,

what think ye 'o wise ones?

Elf London Made Briar Estate Pipe.
Another sidenote,

with the start of the New Year, our work has begun to ramp back up and I'll be out-of-state alot more and less active here due to my well-known curmudgeonly caveman lifestyle and won't have any online access,

starting tomorrow, off I go back into the land of heavily callused hands! LOL

:puffy:
Now,

off I go and sign out until further notice,

the remainder of the day will be spent watching football,

I've been recording the current game so I can ffd thru commercials,

and the Pack better crush the Cowbozos or I will be sad! :crying:
I was so happy to see the Seahawks take down the Panthers because Carolina knocked my team, the Falcons, out of contention.
Kam Chancellor destroyed it in that game yesterday!
Incredible stuff to witness.
I think he is my new favorite player,

who's the "superman" now Cam Newton? LOL You fail!
At this point,

I'm rooting for GB to make it to the Super Bowl!
Go Pack!

(wow, what a rambling allover the damn place post this is! LOL)

Troy, I was watching that Elf, right up to an hour before the end of bidding. I was sorely tempted, as I like those pipes where the stem goes straight to the bowl - also it reminded me of the Afrikobs. However, my sights are elsewhere at the moment - bidding finishes tomorrow!!!
Nice score, and glad I didn't bump the price up for you.
I just looked at the Pete sale - says it was stopped by seller as item no longer available. Still, may drop them a message....

Thanks for the info!
And thanks Jason for not pursuing that particular pipe! :) It had been on my watch list but hadn't made my mind up until I checked in and noticed 7 mins left, I decided to at least toss off a bid.
Carol, the seller, has a pretty interesting list of old pipes she's sold:
Dunhill Bruyere 105 F/T Estate Pipe
:
Bewlay Special Briar,Hand Cut Stem, Estate Pipe.
:
Golden Arrow, Comoy ? Briar Estate Pipe.

...this particular Golden Arrow is interesting to me because I love the logo stamp on the bottom, and it also shows that Comoy, to my mind at least, had superior rusticators at work moreso than Sasieni, the GA almost looks like a blast, and it appears much rugged, and more natural than the Sas Rustics.

Vintage Charatan's Make De Luxe Briar Estate Pipe.

:

Dunhill Shell Briar Estate Pipe.

:
Antique Charles Maas Crown Meerschaum Pipe, Amber Stem, Silver Hallmark 1903
:
Vintage BBB Best Make, Hand Cut Briar Estate Pipe.
:
Inderwick's Carnaby St London, Vintage Briar Estate Pipe.
:
3 x P.C.G.B. ( Pipe Club of Great Britain) Shell Briar Estate Pipes.

........................................back to NFL,

what a great game this afternoon!

Epic.
The odd thing is that I used to be a huge Cowboys fan back during the Landry era.

I wore a Cowboys watch and a Drew Pearson 88 jersey, both of which came out of the glorious Sears Roebuck wishbook, a wonderful publication which provided hours of delight for my young eyes, it was massive, like 3 or 4 inches thick, and full of everything. The bra and panty section? Yeah, it was stimulating! But seriously, I used to pour over it with intense reading LOL

those days are a thing of the past!

Back to my love for the Cowboys, they were more gritty back then, have you ever seen photos of what Roger Staubach's fingers look like? Broken and crooked!

But my enthusiasm started to shift in 1980 when they faced the Falcons in the Playoffs.

I tried my hardest to root for the 'Boys, but my hometown won out and I ended up pulling for the Dirty Birds, it was an incredible and very close game, but the Birds lost,

and I cried,

I actually cried.

I was 10 years old at the time, almost 11! :)

Steve Bartkowski became my new fave dude, along with Billy "White Shoes" Johnson!
It's difficult to be a Falcons fan,

but I am one,

through thick and thin.
The NFC South this year, overall, was pretty damn horrible.
