I have some friends that live about halfway between Flint and Ann Arbor in Michigan, so I've always had Paul's on my list of places to visit if I'm around. We took a little day trip to Flint to visit the museum that my one friend volunteers at, as well as to get some delightful lunch at a Mexican place who's name eludes me. To my luck, Pauls Pipes was only a few minutes walk from the restaurant so after filling up on tacos and salsa I took a little detour.

I can say that the place feels delightfully old school when you walk in, and its certiainly a place worth making the pilgrimage if you want to see a bunch of pipes in one spot! I could have spent longer but my group was ready for a post meal snooze so I got a cool Cayuga Oil Cured Bulldog (I'll post a picture when I smoke it only my selfie-camera works on my phone at the moment) as well as a tin of some Sutliff English tobacco. They had a few house bulks for sale and a few baggies of other tobaccos but some of them felt rather dry to the touch so I figured I'd be better off with the tin. Didn't get to meet the owner but it was a worthwhile excursion, and if you ever find yourself in the area I'd give it a look see.
