Actually there is very little story which is why I’m here. Just curious if anybody who knows Meers has any info. Both purchased at antique stores 5 and 10 years ago, the straight one is an amber stem and has a metal dot on the stem. From my googling amber was used in the 1800s and early 1900s, and the bent one is some type of plastic stem, maybe acrylic. My gut says it’s from the 60s, but just a guess. That red tape on the stem is just a wedge as it was fitting loose. Both in decent shape and good smokers.

Are you sure the straight one is amber?
Certainly not. I just googled amber stem and it looks like some of the pics I saw, so I assumed. Could be another material. It has lots of imperfections in the stem like amber, not one colour.

Fair enough. Amber was used in those times but I think it was on high end pieces.
