I'll start off by saying that I've purchased the products described with my own money and the opinions written below are all my own.

For those unfamiliar, Easygars are the brainchild of Italian pipemaker Michele Brentegani and his brother, Davide. They popped into the market back in July and have been making my smoking of Toscanos and other cigarillos more enjoyable. He makes them in a handful of varieties and of a few different materials that I'll now describe.

The first and most notable for a pipe smoker would be the Nautilus. The main body is made of wood like Briar, Olive or Morta which has been joined to some ebonite with a nice horn accent to give it a little flair. I have three of them and it is the best bridge if you're a pipe smoker as it gives the feel in your teeth of a pipe with the ebonite bit.

Next is the Natural, made entirely of Briar wood. It's shorter and lighter than the other offerings and has the surprising benefit of being a much drier smoke as the wood does a nice job of absorbing the tobacco oil while you smoke. I'd recommend just pinching it with your lips though as the Briar isn't the most comfortable in your teeth. I have one of them and like it for use in the car as it reduces the length overall.

The Zephir is made of Methacrylate, an acrylic material that comes is some really beautiful colors. It's about the same size and length as the Nautilus but a little heavier. It has the benefit of not absorbing any oils, making it perfect for flavored cigars.

The Graphite is a very premium version of the Nautilus being made of sandblasted Morta where the blasts have been filled with 22k Gold. It's also married to an ebonite stem but without the horn accent. Though I don't own one of these yet, it's on the list for a future purchase as a classy smoking accessory. They sit at the top of his price list but for good reason.

All of them are handmade by Michele in the same shop he crafts his pipes in and they all have a very premium feel. They arrive in a nice little box with a branded velvet sock to store it in when not in use.
I started off with a Zephir and two Nautilus, one in Briar and one in Olive. Though I ended up gifting away my Zephir, the Nautilus have been in almost daily rotation since getting them back in August.

The experience of smoking small cigars for me has changed dramatically since getting them. First of all, they have fit every little cigar I've put in them. Though they're made for Italian Cherutes like Toscano or Italico, from CAOs to Drew Estates and Kentucky Fire Cured sticks, all fit perfectly! Next, no longer is my saliva changing the taste of my smoke as I work through a stick. From light to the end, the taste has been beautifuly consistent. I also have the newly added benefit of being able to COMPLETELY enjoy a cigar down to almost nothing where I used to toss the last inch or two as it got too hot to hold.
The cleaning and maintenance of them is incredibly similar to a pipe. I just run a pipe cleaner through it when I'm done and touch it up with Obsidian Oil on the stem or Decatur Wax on the wood as needed.

They break in very similar to a pipe as well but without the concept of cake as when you're smoking the stump inside the wood, the wrapper doesn't burn off. This also has the added benefit of the Easygar not needing a lengthy time to rest like a pipe in-between uses.

I mentioned size in a couple of the descriptions so here's a photo of one next to a Toscano, cut in half. They are very similar in size and shape if you're familiar. This is also a huge benefit if you're like me and enjoy Toscanos smoked ammezzato. I also really like how well they fit in my little pocket case

If you made it this far and haven't realized it, I really like Easygars! I hope this review has introduced them to you in a way that seems appealing and makes you consider grabbing one for yourself.
Michele sells them at his website HERE. Ben at Redeemed Pipes also imported some of them a little while back so checking with him for what's available may save you international shipping if you're in the US. Michele also has an Instagram account setup for easygars if you want to check out more photos or see what he's doing @easygars.
