A Peterson with Nice Grain (Not Often Seen)

From time to time Peterson produces a pipe that holds its own with Scandinavian "uber grain" specimens.
Thought you might get a kick out of it. :D

You'd be surprised. I've got a few Petersons with stellar grain. Once you get into the spigots and other pipes in those price ranges, you begin to find higher grade briar than in some of the lower cost Petes. Is that one you recently picked up? I love it!

Another question is... is that a silver spigot or a gold spigot? Hard to tell in the photo, and the gold spigots can be quite pricey. So you can bet they're especially careful to pick out some of their best briar for those.

Beautiful Peterson’s guys. Here are my 3 Peterson pipes with superb grain.
The first is this Rosslare.

The second is this silver capped Pot shape.

The last is this Golden Spigot Billiard which the grain doesn’t show well in the photo but it’s as nice as the other two are.

Tremendous flamage George.
I had a System Deluxe with wonderful cross grain/birdseye. Loved the look of it but I found out quickly the system pipes aren't for me.

Absolute drop-dead gorgeous pipe! I just bought an unsmoked 1980s system supreme which has absolutely stunning birdseye sides and cross-grain up the shank and front of the bowl. In looking at many other Supreme grade pipes while trying to determine a price, I saw none that had grain that came close to either this spigot nor my new 337s.
Congratulations! Enjoy that beauty. Treat her well.
