Amidst a group of pipes I acquired was this Seville Filter. I didn't inquire into it. It was in pretty rough shape with a lot of lost fills. Here are a few pictures:

I won't bore you with the time and effort required to get this pipe cleaned and sanded. However, here is a picture of some of the fill work:

After cleaning that all up, I went with the red leather dye again. A might have gone with a dark brown to help cover the new fills, but it's my pipe. I don't intend to fool anyone.

The surprise? Underneath all of the oxidation on that stem was the Peterson symbol! I didn't notice it until polishing. It's very faint--it endured a lot of scrubbing and sanding--but it's there.

This is obviously not a good briar. Lots of fills. The grain is good. It holds a filter. Good enough for me!

Looks great! I too am wondering what you used for the fills?
Yes. Superglue with some sanding dust mixed in. I haven't mastered the art of hiding the fills.

It's interesting and somewhat odd that I remember this pipe but I have no recollection of this post! I retrieved the pipe and then remembered it takes the Savinelli 9mm filter and not the standard 9mm charcoal types. Hmmm.
