Here is something you don't see very often - acomplete 1880s meerschaum 'cutty' with its original drainer that sits at the bottom of the bowl to prevent the stem getting blocked. I think I have seen one other in the last thirty odd years. They were often lost or replaced with a silver button or small coin. This one is from the well known Austrian carver and again has a case in excellent condition. Enjoy!

That is a fantastic cutty, Simon. Even in the context of your collection. I think I may have seen a plug the other day --- somewhere -- and I think the seller had it turned upside down in the bowl, like some kind of ill-fitting, too-small cap. I wonder now if it wasn't a similar plug. Very cool! Who's the maker?
