A Little Dunhill Luck (Pick Heavy)

I saw a lot of pipes for sale with a rather nice Comoy pipe in it but very poor pictures. On closer inspection I saw a white spot among the photos. After I had won the lot I noticed another white spot among the photos. All this was confirmed on arrival. The bowl on its own had no markings on the flat base I was about to throw it in the bin full of broken bits of pipes next to the bench, gave it a wipe and you can guess the rest. The Comoy however was a grand slam with printed C, not the Blue Riband Straight Grain Giant I had hoped for. Any info on the pipes gratefully received. The Root Briar does have some rim damage and they maybe need a ream.

Awesome! The Patent pipe I think is a 1948? Those will clean up to beautiful pipes with not much work!

Root Briar 1955

Bruyere 1966

And agreeing with light my briar 1948 for the bowl only.

Unless the 5 is underlined, I'd put that Root at 1965. Others can confirm or correct me.

Not sure if it's a 2 or an 8 underscored ('42 or '48 in either case as I read it).
