Unfortunately, all I got was a crapload of pop up ads and no images and I finally gave up. Photobucket is crap. Based on Duane's image, that IS one classy looking pipe! According to Who Made That Pipe, Critic was made by Delacour Brothers, a very fine maker, with a factory in St Claude and a subsidiary company in London.

Yes, Delacour Bros Ltd-
I got one at the same age unused last year from a madam in England selling out stock from her great grand fathers

shop.

The paper it was packed in said: " For Critical smokers - The Critic pipe - London Made "
In an add here somewere ( Mr Lowercase) Price silver mtd 6/6.

Those are great looking pipes -- are they both unsmoked?
BTW, what make is that straight-grain sitter (with the brown shank extension)?

I love apple shaped pipes, there is something sensual about the roundness... sorry, I drooled on myself a little bit there!

Anyway... nice pipe!

Thanks. That's a beauty. Not familiar with Bjarne grading, but everything about it says "High Grade." Very nice. I assume it's a handmade rather than a production model.

Yep, bjarne (who is no longer with us, 2008) operated a bit like s.bang. he had guys helping him out to meet demand. The pipe is a bjarne neilson ax (highest grade), really smart guy and top bloke from all accounts!ps: apologies for aussi slang.
