Well I'm a happy camper. I was cleaning out some stuff I had in storage at my father-in-law's place and I came upon 5, 8oz cans of Seattle Pipe Club Potlatch. I had completely forgotten that I bought it and it definitely puts my cellar weight a notch or two higher.

Incidentally, it's in some of those paper/cardboard cans. Have we determined if those hold up over time? If not I need to do some jarring in the near future.

I have actually not tried it yet. Looking at the receipt, I bought it because it was on a ridiculous sale. Thanks for the push to pop one of the smaller tins I have mso.

When I buy SPC blends, it’s usually only one or two tins at a time because I hate paying that much per ounce. I usually just dump a two ounce tin into a mason jelly jar, and smoke it. Never cellared it, so I can’t say how those tins will behave for the long haul. If you’re nervous about it, maybe jar it up? Never tried Potlatch, but I quite like Hood Canal and Plum Pudding.

Potlatch was on sale several months ago at P&C for $15.99 per 8oz tin. Tough to beat $2/oz.

I won't touch anything involved with Matt Guss, but as to the question, the cardboard tins should last a long time if they've received no damage.

I'm smoking some Potlatch now. Good! I'm nearing the bottom of a 2 oz tin, but I have an 8 oz unopened. Don't know the background on the blend. Guess I'll stay out of the loop on that one. I avoid some brands and blends for my own reasons. Understand the turn of mind.

I hate I missed that sale. Still learning what I like and tastes are changing. I recently discovered Plum Pudding and really like it. Just got a tin of the Potlatch and looking forward to trying it.
