What a joyous feeling it is to see retail therapy at work! As of late, I have been looking at various winter boots because the sales right now are too good to pass up. I finally found something last night, a pair of Red Wing 6" Round Toe Boots that were marked at 50% off on Haberdash. However, they didn't have the color I wanted and /if/ I decided I didn't like them, I could only receive in-store credit. Nordstrom came to the rescue. They had the Olive Brown color that I wanted /and/ full refund if I did not like the boots. Their customer service is truly top-notch.
When I signed into my email to check the confirmation mail, I was further surprised by a message from Altinok saying that my pipe had shipped! I placed the order a bit after Christmas, and I am surprised that the pipe is completed already (their website says ships in 4-6 weeks). I, like many other first-time Meerschaum Pipe owners, plan on taking photos and keeping a color/tobacco log for the meerschaum pipe. I'll remember to post some photos and thoughts on here.

Keen to hear how that meer works out for you Swilly. Let us know. I'm rocking a pair of Red Wings' Iron Rangers myself. Great boots, though I paid full retail in the fall :cry:

@Rickpal14

Haha, I've been slowly transforming my wardrobe as I enter my final semester of undergraduate study. I /feel/ like I need to look more presentable, so in come the boots/inexpensive blazer, etc... My fashion-conscious and well-dressed housemate has afflicted me.
@Rockmtnsmoker

The honeymoon period won't allow me to not post an update of my thoughts XD. The Iron Rangers are some gorgeous boots. I was also looking at the Wolverine 1000 Mile Boot, but unfortunately, there rarely are deals on those models. In the end, I decided that I wanted something with more boot functionality without looking like I worked in construction (nothing against working in the industry, just not the look I was going for), so the lugged sole (and price) of the round toe boot won me over. As a plus, the profile does have some Oxford styling, so I think I found a nice middle ground.
