If you want a great bargain on a Christmas pipe, or want to ask for one that won't be expensive,

take a look at Iwan Ries "Half Price Pipes" section, at the red stain and red stem Ropp. It's not

sold as a Christmas pipe at all, but it's a trim, handsome little apple with all the Christmas red

you'll ever need. I asked my wife for this one. She seemed interested.

Oops. Looks like Iwan Ries is out of that one. I'll find out if my wife got there first. Sorry.

Sometimes I feel sure I've bought "the last one" of a pipe, and it will stay on site (various

online retailers, not just Iwan Ries). So they have a supply. I can't tell from the online discussion

if all Ropps are from the old days, or if some are still being made. I know SP stocks include some

old well-seasoned briar. But I am sorry about the false alarm. With a double discount, I think this

pipe was down to $37.50 plus shipping, and it looked like a better than average pipe. And it sure

has/had a Christmas look. I think it started (MSRP) at $75, about mid-grade.

This is my Christmas Pipe. The only tobacco that it has smoked is McClelland Christmas Cheer.

That pipe is a statement! Deep thought by the fireside. Elementary, my dear Watson.
