A big dose of medicine for my TAD

I recently went sort of hog wild (for me) on pipesandcigars.com and took two great big pills for my TAD. Through a strange turn of events and several calls and trips to the post office thanks to a careless carrier, I share with you my latest tobacco haul.

Now, if you'll excuse me, gentlemen, I have some smoking to do ::

Nice haul! I have the Oriental #1 and like it quite a bit. I have not tried the other Oriental blends.

ssjones, I picked up the 3.5 oz. tin of Symphony on pipesandcigars.com for a little over $8. I consider it a steal. I will certainly let you know what I think when I try it.

If I had to take a guess, I would say those are probably gonna be on the back burner for a while. The date on all three tins said August, 2008, and I am thinking of letting them age just a little longer before I open them. In any case, I will certainly let you know what I think.

I'm a big fan of Symphony, I think its a great value like a lot of MacBaren blends.

Not a big fan of the Orientals, but I've found that most McClelland Virginias just dont agree with me.

I still have 100gm tins of No 1 and No 8 that I'm not sure I'll ever finish.

:rofl: Thats a good one. Alas, I am not a very hardcore smoker, just 2-3 bowls a day for me. Hell, what I have here will probably last me a good 6 months or so.

Symphony...just got some and it's pretty high in nic but not high on taste. The room note is that of feces.

john, Symphony is one of those baccys that needs some drying time. It does taste sort of gnarly fresh out of the tin. It does have a rather cigaretty room note, not to be confused with feces though :roll: . Straight Perique though, now that's something that gets close to that chicken coop smell ....

Symphony can be a bit boring, but that is it's good point. Sometimes you don't want a highly flavored smoke. Just something comfortable. Regarding the smell of feces, has anyone seen the Showtime TV series The Borgias? The pope's son brings him a gift, a box of torpedo shaped brown things. The pope asks "what have you brought me, turds?" "Not turds, father, cigaros, from the new world." The pope proceeds to become a cigar addict. His daughter, Lucrezia Borgia, enters the room saying "what are you smoking father, turds?" "Not turds, daughter, cigaros." "Well, they smell like turds."
