Nice and light and short but good bowl capacity. The briar was so pitted that I went with a rustication instead of smooth. I'm not really a rustication fan. There is a rather large pit that developed as the briar opened up but it does not go through. I don't like fill and prefer the pits. I can make up a story about the pit like, I was attacked by a large killer sloth and managed to fend him off and the pit is a claw mark. Luckily for me sloths move even slower than old guys. Phew! Lived to smoke another day!
Lots of operator error faults. I think the bowl is too short and next time I will use a taller piece of briar to emphasize the barrel.
Faint scratches on the stem are because the operator forgot to change to another chunk of sandpaper because during the shaping phase, sanding the brass makes small brass particulate that scratches the vulcanite. And because the stems are $2.75 USD a pop, I decided to live with them since I'm the only one who will ever see and handle the pipe anyway and they are so faint that I can barely see them but nonetheless they are there. I managed to get a small tiny drop of stain down into the bowl. *UCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK! I sanded what I could and hopefully won't make that mistake again. The bottom isn't as flat as I would like it to be. I'm sure others can find other things and flaws but this is it. The bowl is canted.
