I was off work for quite some time with 3 herniated discs and the resulting damage that goes with it. I got a job a few months ago with a Security Company that enabled me to work along a semi-retirement status. Still not enough to keep me busy. Monday, I began a paid 6 week training course, consisting of a 3 week classroom setting and 3 week coached OJT training. Upon sucessful completion, there is a guarenteed sit-down job at the same place as where the training is occurring. The position would be described as an I-net/Cable Technical Support Agent. Not as glamorous as it sounds, but still pretty cool.
Anyway, I am the oldest person in a class of 16, so I refer to myself as "Computer Obsolete". During this first week, it seemed as though everyone in class was grasping the material and I felt like the 3rd wheel on a Bicycle. Today, on the last hour of the class for the week, it was Test time. Tested for all the material covered from Monday to Friday, inclusive, with a minimum pass mark of 80%! Needless to say, no sleep for me on Thursday night. I was the very last student to complete the test today, but still well within the allotted time. 95% on my first test, so I think I will refrain from over stressing myself on the upcoming week. All in all, I am quite relieved now, and will probably sleep 10 hours tonight.
