My 5th homemade briar pipe... just had to keep working on pipes and now my body is sore all over!
While I'm not the biggest fan of the acorn shape, I am a big fan of making my own 'real' acorn pipe!
The experiment on this was:
Colors: stain cap, with natural nut, and a slight sanding of the stained shank-stick to give some realism.
Textures: a different rustication for the cap that I have not done, smooth nut, and a carved 'rough' shank-stick.
Stem: I turned the stem to give it a taper do I could carve the shank. Of course I have no lathe, so a bit of padding and the stem fit into a power drill.... I really need more tools!
So here she is: My 5th homemade pipe - a 'real' acorn!
