I thought I would post a couple of pictures of the latest editions to my smoking rotation. I really was very lucky this Christmas. It's been a case of not knowing what to smoke first! The sort of dilemma I like
1) On the left - A hand made Northern Briars Dublin, with silver band. Despite the thick walls to the bowl, this pipe is incredibly light. On the right - My first experience with the P-Lip from Peterson. It was a little odd at first, but now I am used to it I like it and will be adding more Petersons at some stage. This is shape Number 31 and the only straight pipe in their "System" range.
2) At the Back - Large bowled Smokewell which is a second from Blakemar Pipes. A very nice smoke for those times you need a really full bowl of tobacco. At the Front - Parker bent Apple. This is a second from the Dunhill factory and is also a lot lighter than you would expect for its size. Both of these smoke really well and show that you can get quality pipes for a reasonable price.
3) Finally, another picture of the Northern Briar. This was my "big present" this year and I am delighted with the way it looks, feels and smokes. The grain is lovely, even though it does not show up that well on this low res picture. As a bonus, it came with a very nice embossed leather pipe sock!
