Hi again, I have had good luck with 2 places since taking up my meerschaum again. 1 place canceled my order rudely, as I used a non-matching PayPal account. I have like 4 of them, which PP is aware of, it was due to some mergings of cards and stuff. Anyway, they canceled my order yet there was a hold on my PP acct for a month.

The place was P&C
It will be no surprise (after a month of reading the forums here)that Smoking Pipes gave great service. I already have a Freeloader Badge for my second free shipping. Service is fast. Selection is great. Only non-disappointments (too hard of a word) is only having two of the four Tsuge Seasons.
Third place I think is new to this forum: http://wvsmokeshop.com/

They had my order filled the next morning, mere hours later. Was here in two days. They have some blends of tobacco that other places do not. CAPTAIN BLACK lovers take note: They have the Copper and the Light (light blue pouch).

Now, their pipe selection: OMG (wait, I never OMG) their stock transports me back 45 years, when I was 15 and my older brother would drive around and we would smoke our pipes. He liked Flying Dutchman, btw (BTW, I do btw, just not OMG). Medico, Yello Bole, Kaywoodie, Dr. Grabow, and many upper brands. The Kaywoodies are new/old pipes. They are gorgeous, too. Also pricey, but.. wow. You would not find those at Wag's (local lingo for Walgreen's).

Back to tobacco: When it comes to some brands like Edward G Robinson and Whitehall, they have one ounce samplers. Though I will continue to buy from Smoking Pipes, this is a grand alternative when I want to try EGR without buying a full tin.

For a person who is only smoking a bowl a day I am stacking shelves with tobacco... and loving it.

The service from WV and SP was equally great. I am hoping WV will consider advertising here.

I try and give WVSmokeshop a plug whenever I can. Great prices and great service, in my opinion. I would like to see them advertise here as well.

Just placed another with them, as I wanted to try the EGR and some Mac Baren samples. I will be going back to SPC site in a few days, as I want to buy some tin brands to store. Will have to ask a dumb question, like do I just leave them in the can or do I open them and store them a different way?

After opening the tobacco, I usually transfer it to a 4 oz. or 8 oz. mason jar and seal it up.

Sometimes I will leave it in the tin, if it's a go-to blend that and I will smoke long before it has a chance to dry out or become un-fresh.

wv smokeshop has a distinct inventory that is always worth a look. Lately, I was looking at Dr. Grabow pipes, and they have a nice array, but when I clicked on the Royalton billiard, it came up out of stock. Often online sites will signal this before you click, for example by excluding the "add to cart" option. But you can find things at West Virginia Smoke Shop you can't find elsewhere. PC has the billiards (at a great price, $29.99) but not in stock at this time. tobaccopipes.com has Royalton bulldog and apple, but no billiards. So, either Dr. Grabow doesn't make so many billiard Royaltons, or they are selling out promptly.

MSO, WV and I have Mars Tobacco on my radar both have unique items. I have just received my third order from WV. They communicate well. I placed an order online and called them to add to it. No Problem.
I have had about five perfect orders with SPC now.
I may give P&C another try, as it seems things are going better. I want things to work. It helps me and helps them.
Might try some Wilke blends. Did try a Uhle blend. Will report later. I note Mars Tobacco has Panama Jack baccy, whereas SPC does not.
Like MSO says, WV has some unique stuff that will always keep me coming back with regularity.
Bought some Mixture 79 to try first time in forty five years because I found out Francis Albert smoked it.
