Hi again, I have had good luck with 2 places since taking up my meerschaum again. 1 place canceled my order rudely, as I used a non-matching PayPal account. I have like 4 of them, which PP is aware of, it was due to some mergings of cards and stuff. Anyway, they canceled my order yet there was a hold on my PP acct for a month.
The place was P&C
It will be no surprise (after a month of reading the forums here)that Smoking Pipes gave great service. I already have a Freeloader Badge for my second free shipping. Service is fast. Selection is great. Only non-disappointments (too hard of a word) is only having two of the four Tsuge Seasons.
Third place I think is new to this forum: http://wvsmokeshop.com/
They had my order filled the next morning, mere hours later. Was here in two days. They have some blends of tobacco that other places do not. CAPTAIN BLACK lovers take note: They have the Copper and the Light (light blue pouch).
Now, their pipe selection: OMG (wait, I never OMG) their stock transports me back 45 years, when I was 15 and my older brother would drive around and we would smoke our pipes. He liked Flying Dutchman, btw (BTW, I do btw, just not OMG). Medico, Yello Bole, Kaywoodie, Dr. Grabow, and many upper brands. The Kaywoodies are new/old pipes. They are gorgeous, too. Also pricey, but.. wow. You would not find those at Wag's (local lingo for Walgreen's).
Back to tobacco: When it comes to some brands like Edward G Robinson and Whitehall, they have one ounce samplers. Though I will continue to buy from Smoking Pipes, this is a grand alternative when I want to try EGR without buying a full tin.
For a person who is only smoking a bowl a day I am stacking shelves with tobacco... and loving it.
The service from WV and SP was equally great. I am hoping WV will consider advertising here.
