That top one was a real find. Most Edward's along that style that turn up usually have that small thin strip of briar broken off or some idiot reamed the

bowl out to the point of creating paper thin walls. I couldn't let that one pass by because it wasn't screwed up.

Holy handful of briar. As one who enjoys freehands, those are some nice looking pipes.

Back in the 70's into the 80's Edward's had several skilled carvers employed at once. Finding out exactly who is impossible at this point. After the hey day of pipe manufacturing in Tampa, I was told Edward's on occasion would send out to various carvers algerian briar to make pipes for them.
I had my local B&M owner ask at this years IPCPR show if there was any chance of getting some new production freehands. The folks at FGT stated there wont be anymore for awhile.....at least not on a big scale.
