2017 Bruce Weaver Commission

So it has begun. Contacted Bruce earlier, and have requested a similar pipe to the one in the image, leaving finish and stem material choices up to him. My only request was that I wanted some ivory in it. Have also requested a special matching tamper as this will complete my first seven day set of his pipes. And now, the waiting begins..........

There's a lot of this when commissioning a pipe. I just entered the 12th month of a twelve month wait that comes to an end in Chicago next month. The seventh pipe of a seven day set is pretty exciting stuff. It's going to be a little more arduous wait than usual because it is number seven. ::

That's pretty cool!! I know how the wait goes. I'm currently waiting for the seventh pipe of a seven day matching set. I already have a seven day set from this particular carver, so I went with a seven day matching set. I was super chill with the whole process and I haven't seen any of them. I just gave him a verbal on the seven shapes, because they are all traditional, and sizes.

Need photos of that complete set when you get it! I am currently waiting on a second commission from a carver. It happens to be the same finish as the first. Maybe I should continue and shoot for a 7 day matching set as well???

I would, the more you work with a carver, they get a feel for your preferences, and can make pipes ideally suited to your taste.

My wife said the same thing. Given that I gave Bruce free range of stain and finish, and knowing his sense of humor, if I get a pink pipe I will not be surprised.
