So many nice pipes. Here, I thought pipe smoking, though currently on the rise in popularity, was still a relatively minority pastime.

But apparently there are enough of us to support a huge market supply -- and so many of them artisan creations!

Add to all these the thousands of factory pipes in standard shapes, and one has to conclude there are many more pipe smokers

than are active in the online community.

+1 That, actually, was abundantly clear at the show. There were more people wandering around who were oblivious to any sort of online pipe community than there were those of us who are active in one. More by a long shot. They may not have been the most informed, as to who the new(er) carvers were, or which tobaccos would be launching at the show. But they are as fiercely dedicated to their hobby as the rest of us nutcases. It was pretty cool to see.
