I just purchased a 2012 tin of Balkan Sobraine from Ebay for $29. Not a bad deal for these Ebay tins IMO.

The tin in the listing looks like the current Germaine incarnation, which is not discontinued and was in production in 2012. Gallaher produced this blend up to the mid 2000's and Sobranie went through several iterations through the 1980's.
If it's imported by Arango Cigar it's the Germaine relaunch. I used to smoke this blend a lot in the 1970's and the newer stuff is good, though not the same. The good news is that if you like the blend, and it is Germaine, you will be able to find more of it.
You may also want to check out Balkan Sasieni, which is readily available, and which is reputed to be a revival of the old blend by James B Russell. Inc. in partnership with the Redstone family who produced the original.

Masspiper:
I'm wondering *why* you purchased this from eBay, when stock is currently available for the actual retail price. . . I don't think a 100% markup is warranted for only two years of aging.
To be honest, though, I never buy from eBay sellers who actually lie in their listings. And the title of the listing you linked to is a lie: Balkan Sobranie from 2012 is not discontinued. I'm not even sure you could even call it "rare." It can be challenging to find because of its limited production. But tins are released at multiple times throughout the year and are available -- if you move quickly -- from virtually all of the major online pipe tobacco retailers. Set up an e-mail alert with SmokingPipes.com, for example, and if you're willing to make an immediate purchase decision (and I mean within a minute of receiving the notice), you'll get tins.

Current stock is gone or at least I can't find it. I knew title was wrong because Balkan Sobraine is out now. I bought it because I wanted a couple of tins that at least a little age. I have only been only at this for approx. 3.5 months and don't have any aged stuff. Compared to what I see other people are getting for the same stuff on ebay still think I did pretty good. I am happy.
