Not much to say here that the pictures don't say better. 8)
Rad stopped making pipes a few years ago so he could spend his days trout fishing and doing other assorted lazy retired-guy stuff, but his pipes are still workin' as well as they ever did.
43.6 grams (blast); 45.8 grams (smooth)
6.0" long (both)
PS --- more granite grain! :D

Both beautiful, design balanced between the slight, elegant bent stem and the cant of the bowl.

Nice pipes. I think he's dead. I bought an estate based on cigrmaster's (Harris?) love and devotion of Rad's pipes. He made nice pipes .

Dead?! 8O
Doubtful. I'm reasonably sure I'd have heard about it.
He did survive a heart attack---it's what prompted him to retire---but hopefully that's all you're thinking of.

That's a stunning pair of pipes George! There must have been some amazing grain under that blast, those rings are perfect.

Haha. Not dead for certain. He still does sandblasting but doesn’t produce his own pipes anymore.
Those are some truly fabulous pieces! I’m constantly impressed by your collection. Hats off sir!

Those are amazing! Owning one of his pipes is absolutely on my bucket list! I think yours are the best looking Rad Davis pipes I've seen!

Wow great pipes.
I was all set to commission a pipe from him when he had his heart attack. I should have pulled the trigger sooner. lol

That is a glorious set of pipes. Each plays off the other. Rad Davis made fantastic pipes and is a super nice guy. I bought an early early Rad from Pipestud and asked a question about it. Rad himself popped in with the answer and even more info. Truly a gentleman!

You can see the hand of the master in those pipes. Nothing unusual or astounding about the shapes, at first glance. But the degree of refinement of that shape. . . that's what tells.
