For a long time Dunhill marked a small number of its pipes with the letter "C" and then stamped "Not For Sale" OVER the nomenclature.
The "C" stands for complimentary. Dunhill employees of sufficient rank were issued a handful of these from time to time to be given at their discretion as gifts in the course of business. As a thank you, maybe, or to a VIP of some sort. They're quite scarce in the estate market. As much because their owners hang on to them for sentimental reasons as anything else, I imagine.
I was involved in a de-facto project with Dunhill via Music City Marketing years ago, and at its conclusion they sent me this. A nicely blasted little Group 3 Shell that's neither pot nor billiard, but looks like the lovechild of both. Sits solidly on a flat surface and is as maneuverable and work-friendly as a cherrywood. Smokes great.
