So im looking to spend right around $200 for a new pipe. Problem is I have looked at so many now I have been overloaded and cant decide! I would prefer an Acrylic stem but it isn't a must. Suggestions for the best smoker at that price point would be greatly appreciated. Just bought a Nording so I would prefer something else. Thanks in Advance guys.

More info for them to go by. Preferences. Like New as in new, or estate, bent or billiard, briar or meer or metal. Big bowl or little. Things like that.

There are so many criteria to consider: chamber diameter/depth/wall thickness, shape, finish, stem & button, etc.

I suggest using SmokingPipes.com's Pipe Locater, where you can plug in all your preferences. As for making a reliable recommendation, Savinelli is a safe bet.

Good point Scrooge. I apologize gents, let me be more specific.

Price Range: + or - $200

Condition: New

Shape: Horn, Zulu, Cherry Wood

Stem: Acrylic

Chamber Depth and Diameter: No preference really, if it catches my eye I can look past that.

Rusticated preferred but if it has nice grain, smooth will work.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Keep in mind that there is no consensus on what the best anything is on this site. Many experienced folks here. Some folks here can afford anything and they still prefer Cobs.

If you're looking to spend around $200, you can get a very cool pipe.
I'm pretending it is me with the $200 and that I want a CW, Horn or Zulu.
One, On Tuesday, I'd check Boswell's website for cherrywoods/pokers. They are usually depleted by Tuesday eve or Wednesday. They make great pipes.
Two, I would also go to forum sponsor: Lepipe.it - Look at the Jacanos. I see a nice rusticated Cherrywood/poker and one horn. You get 10% off for your first buy. They ship fast. I have bought from them three times.
Lepipe.it has some great value and they are trustworthy.
Three, I'd look at some of the unsmoked estates from smokingpipes. There is this beautiful Daniel Mustran Rusticated Cobra for $200. I need you to buy it so that I don't! It's under Misc. Estates.
Four, Lots of other great advice. Yeah, Mark Tinsky!
Good luck! Let us know what pipe you choose!

$200 budget for a pipe ... you can get a lot of things for that amount. Even a pretty, hand carved and new Meerschaum if that is your desire ..

Speaking of Meers, there is a very nice WGM Horn to be had at tobacco pipes .com at the moment. With discounts, I think it comes in at $112 or $125? That's a nice price on a WGM.

Think Radice.

These Italian jobs come in a nice selection of shapes, plus natural and raw for finishes... maybe a few you hadn't thought of.

Al Pascia is a site sponsor, and a terrific place to get a nice pipe.

Look at the lower, non-EU price; two-day FedEx is 12 bucks, and your purchase comes gift wrapped.

My favorite zulu design is the Sav 404, available at different price points, and in its sub-brand Rossi for somewhat less offered sometimes as an 8404. I like the simplicity of design and the relatively large bowl on a light weight pipe. You could get two good pipes at $200, or one up-market version. If you like the bright colors, the Oscar Lucite series is a good one, no filter and nicely finished. But if you need something more singular, the Tinsky recommendation is a good one.

So im looking to spend right around $200 for a new pipe.
If it were me, I would look to buy the pipe I really want. If I could get it for $100, I would pocket the other hundred. If you are looking to end up buying the pipe you think you want so long as it is in the $200 range, you will probably end up disappointed.
Cost should be the LAST consideration, then only to stop you because you simply cannot afford it, but never make the mistake of passing up on a good pipe just because it cost you less than you can afford!

Toob said it well. I would look at all your options and buy the pipe that calls to you. If its in your price range and its keeping you up at night, then you have to order that pipe! But there are great options under 200. One of my best smokers was a 35$ estate from SPC. Savinelli 207 Roma, even at full price those Romas are an excellent price.

I've never really considered spending $200.00 on a pipe, but many have:

I just picked up a Musico Foundation billiard for that exact amount and couldn't be happier with it.
