Interesting article about two types of Presbyterian Mixtures. I have one older tin that says: Made in W. Germany and some new tins with the updated art that say: Made in the EU.
Do I have both mixtures?

He very well may be? I have no idea. I would like to know, as I was less than impressed with my new tins of Presbyterian. Strange note of olives in the tin...

Yup, that guy with the odd face is a member here
@protestantpiper: As you can read on my blog there now are two versions of Presbyterian. One version for Germany and one version for the rest of the world. So if you live in the USA and bought both tins there you have the international version. Which is the best one in my honest opinion. But you have two international tins of different dates. According to Planta (the makers) both versions never changed apart from minor yearly chances (yeah right..), I quote from the mail send to me by Planta:
We made the international blend according to the expectations of our friends in the USA, UK and other foreign countries too. The “German” mixture however had been done according more to the taste of our countrymen. But please, none of the two different mixtures had ever been changed. Both have remained the same. Of course, you as an experienced pipe smoker know, that every year the tobacco changes a little bit…

I saw that in the article, I just thought perhaps I had both as one was marked W. Germany. Well as you allude too, my new tins of Presby are quite different than my older ones. Just as a side note, Cup O' Joes has the older tins still in stock, if anyone wants to grab a few.

The German tins are only sold in Germany so if you have bought those tins outside of that country both of them are international version. Only one of them is older.

And to be honest, I think CupoJoes has not updated their Presbyterian tin-picture. 4noggins also has not done that and when you buy a tin there you get this version:

I actually emailed Cup O Joe's and asked...she said they have not received the new tins yet. She better have told me the truth, or I'll be complaining the whole time I'm smoking it!
3) We have plenty of the Presbyterian in the tin that is pictured on our website. We do not have the newer packaging yet.

Well...Despite what "Melisa" claims I in fact received the "new" tins and not the old. However, I did notice something. The tins themselves are a bit different although they have the same art. I suppose now I'm really reaching.Oh well, as Arno said: its all the same anyhow.
