Hey everybody, I have just noticed my favorite sav auto is starting to burn out. I am aware of pipe mud but is it possible to widen the bowl just a little and place a meerschaum bowl liner in side?
Thanks mike

Hey Mike, not sure about the liner. Sorry to hear about your Sav-Autograph. I think I would opt for the pipe mud for your repair. I also have a Savinelli Autograph, I love it. Good luck too you sir.
Mike.

I have an Edwards that started to burn out, and used the pipe mud successfully. I am sure you could do what you suggest, but I would not know where you could get it done.

Try contacting Tim West through www.jhlowe.com. If anybody can do what you're looking for, it would probably be Tim.

Just a point on your questions regarding the meerschaum. Meerschaum inserts are typically made for a uniform chamber. I have had 3 Sav Autographs and all three had unusually shaped holes. They were all custom the the shape of the pipe. Not sure if that has changed in the newer versions, as mine were all very old. My point is, unless a meerschaum insert is custom made for your pipe it may not work. I think you should try the pipe mud route before you spend any money sending it out. No doubt Tim can fix it. Just speaking from an economical point.
