Recently I picked up some Lane Ltd. 1Q after continuing to read great reviews. My previous impressions of 1Q were that it's a fabulous aromatic - tasty & with a wonderful room note - but that it was a bit mild. The new batch confirmed my old impressions - great in every way but somewhat too mild.

To ramp it up a bit, I mixed it one-to-one with some Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake and also with some Wessex Brigade Classic Virginia.

Adding the Virginia tobaccos really added a nice dimension to an already good pipe tobacco, adding more flavor without subtracting from the positive attributes of the 1Q itself.

1Q for me now becomes reminiscent of the old Rum & Maple Blend 53 - "good by itself - good as a mixer"

Anyone else use 1Q as a mixer?

I think it would go well with black Cavendish, but I usually start with a unblended

burley or Virginia for home mixes.

I have a Mac Baren Honey & Chocolate. Dark chocolate flavor is very good but I want little more sweet.

So I mixed with 1Q 50/50. Wow it came out nice nutty chocolate flavor tobacco

not only a flavor but a taste sweet too.

It is a very nice mix to me. Good Luck with all yours.

I've been mixing 1-Q with BCA and it's been really tasty. I should say I have a sweet tooth and like a sweeter mix.

I mix 1 part Lane 1Q with 2 parts Cornell & Diehl Three Friars Va/Bur/Per.
