Finally found it, smokeing pipes had it for only a few hrs and I happened to spy it, jumped on it right away, smokeing EMP, thought I was going to have to retort it, but it was so clean I loaded it up. Kudos to Smokeingpipes.com. The old cajun
Congratulations on finding your birth year Dunhill. I have one also for my year as well. They take awhile to find but is is so special when the task is completed.
Good for you Brad. Happy you finally attained your prize. I'm still looking for 1962. I can get any year it seems for around 225 but that 62 goes for way more than I want to spend. One day though I will.
Very cool Bradley! I think it'll be slightly easier to find a 1987 compared to your 1943. I've seen a 1986 for a good price close but no smoke. I've always wondered though, what does ODA stand for?
TJ there are two schools of thought on that, some say Oversized Dunhill, other school of thought was you could order what size you wanted and it was Own Design with the letter designating grade. The old cajun
Thanks for the info Bradley and Roth, I always thought it referred to an oversized but that is interesting to know about the "Own Design" designation. I think Dunhills are amazing due to the history behind them. Some day I will own one or many.
Bradley
Congrats on that acquisition! Beautiful Dunhill. There is something about owning a Dunhill. The history, the feel, I'm not sure, but it does feel great, doesn't it?
Enjoy
