1888 Mid-Day

Just cracked open a tin of Mid-Day that I received from smokingpipes today. My first thought upon opening this tin was NIRVANA. Chocolate, vanilla...everything that smells good came flying out of the tin the second I opened it. My roommates thought I'd gone insane, when they heard the sigh of satisfaction I gave.

I'm going to smoke me a couple of bowls, and post a review over at the review site, but I just couldn't wait. If you haven't had a chance to try this, do so at once!

I will admit, that the 1888 Mid Day is my favorite blend. It's soooo good. It's got some good leaf in it and it tastes much like it smells. That may be a turn off for some, but you owe it to yourself to at least try a bowl or two. It's not a full-flavor english to be sure, but a nice aromatic that is not covered in PG. I find it goes well with a white russian. I've puffed hard and I only seem to get bit on the charring light. (I wonder though if my mouth is somewhat resistant to tongue bite since I rarely seem to get it even with blends which are know for it.) At any rate, it's a blend worth exploring...

Tried this for the first time today and love it.Its got a pretty good Nic content and i get a fruit taste like Plum or Prune.Burns easy no dottle right to the bottom of the bowl. Found it somewhat like PS Dark Currant but more milder with no bite.Very affordable as well!

I'll have to check out the PS Dark Currant. If it's similar, I'd be interested to see how it compares. I think I'll have to sit down soon and write up a real good review of this blend. I try all these other great blends and keep thinking I'll come back to Mid-Day and it won't be the same and it will have lost its luster, but it shines through every time.

Hey guys - I agree Mid-Day is a very good tobacco - The price of 1888's are extremely reasonable, especially for such hi-grade leaf! Being primarily an aeromatic smoker (until last year) I thought I would like Mid-Day based on tin smell alone (Heavenly), but I actually prefer their Late-Night blend better - Go figure! - Anyway great smokes. I have seen Kevin's review of the new 1888 offerings and will def want to try!

Mid day is my, "relaxing smoke on the drive from work to home"

Mine tends to bite in the pipe I smoke it in, I'm gonna try a few different pipes to see how they smoke, but it is a great blend!'

As i found out yesterday evening, Mid day will absolutely ghost up a pipe. Beware of smoking this blend past your dedicated aromatic pipe.
Otherwise, its a lovely summer evening blend.
