What a journey! On February 3, 2024 I was gifted a pipe for helping a friend restore his late father’s pipes. Since that day, 15 months ago, I have accumulated 23 more pipes and nearly 30 tobaccos; I have a new hobby in pipe restoration; I have joined a local Pipe Club and have made new friends there. When I think back to that cold February day, I had no idea how much joy pipe smoking has brought me. At 55 I was late to the pipe game but I am going to give it hell as long as I have air in my lungs!

Just wanted to say thank you to the community here. Whether it’s a tobacco review or advice on how to fix a pipe, I’m grateful for the knowledge that is freely distributed here and the patience of the members with all of us neophytes.

Well this thread got off topic pretty quickly 😂.

Congrats on your piping journey. Glad to hear, life is crazy and the little piece of solace we all find in our goofy little smoking straws makes it all a little easier to live through.

To many more years 🍻

Naw. It’s still a congratulations to his milestone achievement. Everyone learns something here and there from these forums.

Right on!
I pre-inherited my dad’s pipes (just talked to him earlier, it’s his 95th bday today) at 55yo a couple and a half years ago.
Found this loony bin wonderful collection of folks shortly thereafter looking for info on restoring them.
Now I’ve got 50ish pies (only a few Ropp’s and one Pete were bought new). As many blends later, I’m still having a blast.

Congrats on 1k!
