I have a tin of Escudo with over a year on it when I tried it the fresh I didnt care for it so much. I am hoping with age it will be much better. Has anyone tried Newminster No. 403 superior round slices? I like Stokkebye but they give me the worst tongue bite so I cant smoke them. :( So I...

    Am I doing Something Wrong?

I would add try a bit of alcohol on your pipe cleaner when you swab it out after you smoke.(its cooled down) I have one pipe that has a tendency too gurgle and trap moisture so I pack it very loose and take an extra step of doing one pipe cleaner with high proof alcohol on the end. Then I follow...

    Aromatic Pipe Tobacco... Educate Me?

I am not an aro smoker but one I do enjoy is C&D Founding Fathers. For me it needs too be smoked in a large bowl and slowly. Its also a crowd pleaser so I usually smoke at social events that non-smokers maybe attending.

Cellar Aging - Excited to Taste the Impact

Well from your selection I would say Bayou Morning is really good after a year. Blackjack that is lucky too make it a year with me. I have one tin left that has made the mark and need more. Briar fox is pretty good after a year but IMO it needs a bit more time. After a year good too mix into a...

    Hooked on C&D Billy Budd

From your suggestions claypipesarchaeologist its hard too expand on. As a pipe smoker and looking over my smoking journal is a drop in the bucket compared too the blends I still want too try, let alone the other blends out there. If you could expand on the tobaccos you have tasted and enjoy...

    Hooked on C&D Billy Budd

C&D's Red Odessa is a good one along those lines. I have never tried the regular Odessa but I do really enjoy it. Low country has two great Lat bends with their Cooper and Black. Might also like too try plug tobaccos like Pease Jack Knife, Peterson 3p, Briar Fox and if your a Lat lover Pirate...

    1792

I like 1792 in a small bowl at night or on sunday morning with a strong cup of coffee. Have you smoked other S.G. blends? S.G. brown rope number 4 is a great blend. As for bite it might the tonquin bean in 1792. It may also just be you and the tobacco dont match up on a PH level. Some tobaccos...

    Bayou Morning After 1 Year

I didnt like Bayou Morning when I first tried it but after aging its a wonderful blend. I have found in my experience most C&D blends come very young especially when bought in bulk. I really enjoy my Bayou Morning with almost 2 years on it and many have commented on liking its room note. I...
