    A Canadian Canadian & Other.

@Fnord Thanks, the paradis is even nicer looking in person haha. But the Calich is a dream to smoke. @Troutface This may shed a bit of light on the subject. It's an article by G.L. Pease on the subject of billiard shaped pipes, including canadians, lumbermans, lovats and all the other nice...

    A Canadian Canadian & Other.

@Troutface As far as I know, a lumberman shape is much like a Canadian save the fact that they a round shank as opposed to the Canadian's oval. The bit is always a bit confusing (pun intended). I've seen oval shanked Canadians with both shaped bits and round shanked lumbermen with both as...

    A Canadian Canadian & Other.

Thanks Irish! I think so too. And I think the Calich Canadian will quickly become one of my favourites as well. I can't stop handling it now, I think I'm going to fire it up soon!

    A Canadian Canadian & Other.

Hey all, just want to show off the results of my latest bout with PAD. First off is a John Calich Canadian. Calich was a Canadian pipe maker who recently passed. I've been wanting one of his pipes for a while now. This is my first of his. Hoping to get more down the line! Next is another...

Anyone Have any John Calich PIpes?

I've never owned any but I've admired them for a while now. I'd love to get my mitts on one at some point!

Any east GTA pipers interested in starting a club?

While I can't help you out with a pipe club in the Durham region. The Downtown Toronto Pipe Club meets once a month (in the warmer seasons). It wouldn't be outrageous for you to join up and make the short trek here for our meet ups. http://www.torontopipeclub.ca/

    Chinese/Generic Pipes?

Other than briar the only other woods I've heard of that makes a decent pipe would be Morta, Cherry and Olive. I'd imagine there are others that one could turn into a smokeable pipe though to my knowledge the ones I listed are the more common woods (other than briar). I know Mr. Brog makes a...

Spirits, Liqueurs and Other Adult Beverages

I'm a big fan of bourbon. My girlfriend recently interviewed the master distiller at wild turkey, got a couple free bottles out of it so I'm a happy man haha.

    Thieves

I feel you on this one. This past September My girlfriend and I took a trip to Southwest Texas. On the last day of our trip, her sister who was housesitting for us called to tell us that someone broke in to our place and stole my brand new macbook pro. I was furious. The situation surrounding...

Just Put my Deposit down for a Custom Michael Parks Pipe!

Awesome. I'd love to add one to my collection at some point as well. Beautiful stuff. Man, I remember years ago when I lived in my hometown, I used to serve coffee to Mr. Parks almost every day. We'd always chat for a bit about music or whatever. Back then I had no idea what a prolific pipe...

Show us your tobacco stash update!

My modest collection. Behind the jarred baccy are a bunch of tins as well. The fact that my girlfriend allows me to have a dedicated pipe shelf right out there in the open is fantastic haha

Show Us Your Favorite Coffee or Tea Mug

Awesome thread! The top one is my favourite mug. It's kind of weird but it features a bunch of cats doing silly things. I don't know why I like it so much but out of about 15 coffee mugs that I have I find myself reaching for that one more often than not. The second is a handmade mug I...

    Another restoration to work on

Brylon is a composite of briar sawdut and nylon to form a resin like substance. Brylon pipes get hotter than the fires of hell when you smoke them but as far as I can tell they'll take just about any abuse you can throw at them. I've seen people joke that they can hammer nails in with them. From...

    Flea Market Find

Tell me about it! I couldn't really believe it. It's the cheapest pete I've seen that wasn't beat to hell.

    Flea Market Find

After reading your post, my initial impression was that your friends tool was put together by him as I've never seen any skinning tool like this little thing. I'll be sure to let everyone know how it smokes! Thanks! I thought they were decent finds too! Unfortunately there are no markings that...

    Flea Market Find

Hey guys just felt like posting a couple flea market finds that I recently acquired. First is a Peterson Dunmore. The lady wanted $10 for it and I was more than happy to pay it. Stem is a bit oxidized but its in pretty decent shape. The bowl is quite narrow but also pretty deep, I think It'll...

Thought you guys may get a kick out of this.

http://uncrate.com/stuff/stiff-pipe/ I then followed that link to http://www.stiffonline.com/ "The worlds first all plastic pipe". Oh boy. Apparently the first of these has sold for $800. I'm actually a bit speechless. There's a sucker born every minute though.

    Straight Razor Shave

I switched to a straight razor about three years ago. Granted I was shaving regularly then. I have a beard now but still use it to do my throat and cheeks. I don't think I'll ever go back to disposable blades.
