***What Are You Smoking, December 2025?***

GL Pease Navigator with Mario Pascucci -P Rust-2136 (horn ring). Lavazza coffee beans. December always arrives quietly — the final month of the year, when the cold seems to sharpen one’s thoughts. In this air, everything unnecessary slips away, leaving only what has real weight. It’s a good...

***What Are You Smoking, December 2025?***

A good combination of Virginia, Perique, and Black Cavendish👍🏻

Finishing off a bowl of RMC Shakespeare in Peterson Sherlock Holmes Lestrade Dark Smooth — really solid Virginia, smokes beautifully. Somehow I didn’t even notice I’d gone through all my Heritage stock one after another. Now waiting day by day for the next RMC parcel to arrive.

Slightly off-topic. Peterson is preparing for his anniversary. https://petersonpipenotes.org/495-the-milestones-lunting-to-the-160th-anniversary-pipes/

Had Robert McConnell Heritage Regent Street in the bowl Peterson Christmas 2012 xl90. Direct descendant of the 1971 Dunhill Elizabethan Mixture 🙂. Kohlhase & Kopp did their homework. Loose cut, rubs out and packs easily. Red and bright Virginia with a solid dose of Perique (roughly 70/30 feel)...

It's strange that, despite the overall decline in quality (and I'm not just talking about tobacco), RMC still continues to make a high-quality, solid product. I actually only smoke the Heritage line regularly now.

In my current rotation, the Robert McConnell Heritage line continues to hold strong, and Shakespeare fits right in as a straightforward straight Virginia option. Kohlhase & Kopp's blenders used the original Dunhill Ye Olde Signerecipe from the STG archives as their starting point—though for...

Jim, Happy Birthday! Just a quick note to say thank you for all the years you’ve put into the forum and for your reviews. They’ve genuinely helped a lot of us (myself included) navigate blends and avoid the duds. Wishing you good health, great tobacco in the bowl, and everything going your way...

After a smoke break, I went to cook salmon head and «feathers». A classic Japanese sauce. The cheeks and eyes are the most delicacies.😋

***What Are You Smoking, November 2025?***

For the foreseeable future my cellar belongs exclusively to the Robert McConnell Heritage line — and I see no reason to change that any time soon. If anyone has truly managed to carry forward the legacy of the old Dunhill blends, it is McConnell (Kohlhase & Kopp preserved the original recipes...
