Question: Savinelli Extra Lumberman - 'new' estate pipe?

Good morning from cold & wet northern England 🌬☔️🌧 Well, thanks for the input - I can confirm it definitely was a Savinelli, however, I sold it (via ebay LOL) quite some time ago as I made the decision to utilise Savinellis balsar filters due to health issues at the time, and it was one of my...

My Savinelli 'Club' Sterling Silver Band 614 estate?

Ebay it was - the stem is a vulcanite Cumberland. Did look a little 'matt' but with some mineral oil and a buff it's got a bit of a 'satin' sheen to it now 😊

My Savinelli 'Club' Sterling Silver Band 614 estate?

Good morning gents, I've recently received a new pipe to add to my collection...an estate Savinelli Club Sterling Silver Band 614 (images added, naturally 😊). It was in excellent shape, and with about an hours cleaning it was in superb smoking condition (it smokes wonderfully BTW). However...

    My Little Jaunt in Whitby

Yes, our Monday was utterly ruined by the appalling weather - everything we'd planned to do went down the drain (no pun intended 😉). However, every cloud having a silver lining etc., I did end up with a cracking new pipe 😁

    My Little Jaunt in Whitby

Agreed on the distance for you - same as me, as I visited north-west Wales years ago & loved it. Would genuinely love to return but it is a trek for us, given my disability, so it something we have to be realistic about. But never say never...

    My Little Jaunt in Whitby

I'm not 100% sure but my understanding is that after departing from a ship arrived in the port, ol' Drac made his way to the little church graveyard just down from the Abbey...the rest, as they say, is history 😁

It is, hope you gents find the additional pictures interesting (BTW, they're not taken by me, but do give a good idea of its beauty) 👍🏻

    My Little Jaunt in Whitby

Greetings gentlemen! Well, as a belated birthday treat, the wife, dog & self visited one of my favourite places on earth this weekend - Whitby! Didn't have to leave Yorkshire too 😁 Managed to sit near the pier and smoke some of my own blend in a Falcon Coolway (great travelling pipe) taking in...

Question: Savinelli Extra Lumberman - 'new' estate pipe?

Well, I've just finished my second smoke in it...not only was the pipe in excellent condition (considering its age) but it smokes like a dream 😋😘 P.S. your avatar of the cut-off denim takes me back to my teens. Reckon I had LP's of most of those bands at the time ✊🏻🎸🥁

Question: Savinelli Extra Lumberman - 'new' estate pipe?

Unsure, as the stem appears uniform both ways. It is vulcanite, although in pretty decent shape given its apparent age...so could be a replacement 🤔

Question: Savinelli Extra Lumberman - 'new' estate pipe?

It could be...but it was slightly misaligned on the pics. Here's another with it correctly placed. The pipe is just over 180mm in length so can't imagine the stem being much longer originally.

Question: Savinelli Extra Lumberman - 'new' estate pipe?

Good afternoon from cold but sunny England, Just received an estate pipe from ebay, a Savinelli Extra Lumberman (I've added some images for information). It's in excellent condition, no pungent aroma, very clean, bowl appears very well reamed & cleaned or it's just lightly used. Assuming it...

    Filters and/or Adapters...or Not?

Just perused the listing...says they're posted from Germany yet they charge a U.S. postage rate - about 5x the cost of the adapter/reducer. The 9mm-to-6mm might be useful. Shame I can't source one here in the UK ☹️

    Cob Vs. Hardwood Vs. Clay

Hello Callaxic 😊 I started out my pipe smoking journey with a cheap briar about 4 months ago. Then tried a cheapo from Amazon (not recommended). Thankfully, my local tobacco specialist (focuses on pipes & cigars) let me have a really nice Savinelli briar for £65 (about $80) a few weeks later...

Wanting a Small Chambered Pipe: Recommendations?

Indeed, till I found the pipe above in (post #64) I was generally doing just that. But the Morgan Bones Checkmark is only about a 'half bowl' size...certainly compared to most of my others. At maximum, I get about 35mins out of it. Some blends (dryer, non-aromatic) about 20mins. Ideal 😊👍🏻

Wanting a Small Chambered Pipe: Recommendations?

Indeed, I'd purchased one of the Morgan Arbutus (101 if I recall) range a few weeks back. Very pleased with it, so I thought I'd try the Bones. Didn't realise it was as small as it was (about 12cm in length and 4cm outer bowl height) and the chamber is the smallest on any pipe I own. But as I'd...
