I have owned a Bradbury for many years. It is hands down one of the beat pipes I have ever owned. I would buy more if I could find them. I know nothing about the pipe or the manufacturer. But I smoke it regularly.
I have opened a fresh tin of Erinmore Flake. I enjoy this tobacco but do not smoke it regularly. For whatever reason, I can never keep Erinmore fresh or moist in the tin. Do you all transfer the tobacco right away to glass jars when it comes in tins like these? Thanks - RD
Harrywuzhere: it could. It could also have something to do with the tobacco being too moist. Most times with Q-1 I let the tobac air out an hour or so when I first receive it. when I first started smoking a pipe - 40 years ago - I dropped it, spilled it, burned my pants from hot ash, etc. It...
Samanden: I'm a pipe guy till I die! I'm that guy in the cigar lounge smoking his pipe like he's better than everyone else. Excellent. LOL
Pipe only for me. I try cigars every once in a while. But I like the pipe tobacco more.
I love the taste of tobacco
It is relaxing
When I have a pipe in my mouth I do not have to talk to anyone - I just listen
I really enjoy the various tobacco varieties and flavors
I like the room notes
For me personally:
Parker Jockey straight, MM Corn cob, Bradberry full bent, Dr. Grabow (various), Stanwell, Mr. Brog, No name basket pipes from various tobacconists, Fischer's of Orchard Park, NY, Kaywoodie, Medico briar.
My grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins all came to America from Sicily. I remember in the 1960's almost all the men smoked both cigars and pipes. Truth is, whatever portion of their cigars went unsmoked went into their pipes the next day. These were guys that wasted absolutely nothing. They...
I have always liked my Dr. Grabow's. To me they are a great value. I also have an old, old briar Medico from the 1970"s that is still one of my fav's. I just received a new Dr. G Omega full bent rustic. Only smoked it 6 -7 times, but I am enjoying it. I like that it's made in No. Carolina. Enjoy...
Redbeard: I did the same thing with my Aro's. I have a little SWR Aromatic, some vanilla this and maple that. All was going great until i bought a tin of Stanwell Vanilla. I tried a few bowls of the stuff after airing it out a bit. It is the worst tobacco I ever had. instead of trading it, I...
About a year ago I read a post written by one of our fellow pipers. He shared his experience and I tried it. I have been collecting all of my "just a little bit left" NON AROMATIC tobaccos together in one jar. I also added some tobaccos I tried and did not particularly like for a variety of...
W2irt: I been smokin pipes for 40 years. But I know exactly what you are referring to. I want to give you the name of two tobaccos that I smoke and I never get the gurgling . They also never bite. I order them by phone. www.smokershavenwny.com . The two tobacs are: Old Toby and Lord Nelson...
back in the 1970's, one of my very favorite pipe tobacs was Half and Half. I smoked other tobacs, but Half/Half was always my go to. Although there are tremendous tobaccos available today, and I enjoy quite a few, at times I miss the unique taste/spice/ flavor of the Hald and half. Todays...
