Plastic and acrylic stems are best cleansed with pipe cleaners dipped in liquid soap and flushed I do use alcohol occasionally, but rinsed out immediately

So I bought a Pipe by Lee

Our learned counsel’s latest innamorata is Marxman pipes and their magical sap. He alone has driven up the demand and prices of both Pipes by Lee and Marxman piopes And is sitting by ready to cash-in with his hoard of several bucket loads 😁

    Cleaning Cobs

I’m my experience the chamber is rarely where the :poop: is. Try cleaning out the shank and mortise with alcohol-dipped cleaners. And repeat, and repeat until they come out clean If that doesn’t work, buy a new cob.

Help getting started with first pipes, tobacco, etc.

In my curiosity to discover the differences between materials I have pipes made of briar, olive wood, morta, cherry wood, corn cob, meerschaum, gourd calabashes, clay, porcelain and even ivory. My conclusion - unless you have the acutely tuned tastebuds of a @JimInks, the differences are...

Help getting started with first pipes, tobacco, etc.

I’m going to go against most the advice given here  I tell people getting into wine that if they start off with a bottle of 2-buck chuck, they’re are going to wonder what the fuss is about and go back to drinking Bourbon and Coke. If you start out with something decent, you’re more likely...

    Cleaning your rubbers?

OUCH !!!! 🤔 Dishwasher along with the pipe cleaners ? rotf On a more serious note : The silicon ones are easier to use and remove. I have separate ones for each pipe and remove after each smoke. Just give them a quick wipe Cheap enough to throw away if they look scungy They come in a...

    The Dupont Knock-off

My sister wears knock-off Chinese watches, even though she can afford Rolexes She says they are cheap, keeps good time, and when the battery is done, she just gets a new watch because it’s cheaper than buying a battery and getting it installed. And she is not bothered if it goes through the...

What Are You Drinking? December 2024

Amontillados and Palo Cortados are my favourites styles. If you like amontillados, do try a Toro Albala. Montilla-Moriles being further inland grow Pedro Ximenes grapes which have a fuller palate than Palomino which feature in Jerez and Sanlucar. The term “amontillado” refers to sherries...

Interesting Completed Ebay Auctions - British Pipes

That (spectacular) Ken Barnes one. There can't be another of those around. I think you may be underestimating its worth - just on the prices fetched by a Dunhill magnum recently, and those cased Barlings

What Are You Drinking? December 2024

If sherry is your tipple, than you are spoilt for choice these days. Sherry was one of the highest priced wines in the early 1900's - even more expensive than champagne, Bordeaux and Burgundy Sales of sherry has been in the doldrums for decades - hence a plentiful supply, low prices and...
