    Prince Albert

So when you open these older tins of PA do you get a strong vinegary smell? I have a few of them and when I open them that smell is very pungent and distracts from the smoke experience. Just curious.

    Solani Aged Burley Flake

Nice review. This is one of my favorites along with Wessex. And London Blend.

    Tell Me About Your Grandfather

My Grandfather smoked cigs and drank Old Crow. But his grandfather was a Texas Ranger and played the bagpipes. I am sure their was a tobacco pipe in there somewhere cause it was a good Scottish family.

How to Prepare Flake Pipe Tobacco

Just went to the video and tried this fold and smoke method. I like it better than rubbing out the flakes.

    How to Re-Hydrate Pipe Tobacco

I use the buttons. They work very well with distilled water.

1st Estate Pipe Purchase Has a Demon of a Lakeland Ghost!

Yes sir, Just cleaning the bowl will not help if the pipe has been neglected. I have spent hours running bristle pipe cleaners thru filthy stems that seem to never come out clean.

Anyone Getting Macbaren Burley London Blend?

I tried it last year and really liked it. But at the time it was unavailable. I did pick up some tins earlier this week. I wonder why they only put this out once a year or so.

Jim's Watch City Double Barrel Christmas 2020 Review.

Yes sir, I enjoy this stuff.

Burley Blend Recommendations for a Novice

++ the Mac Baren London Blend burley, very nice. Also Ken Byron Ventures makes a Burley Morning that is very good with morning coffee. I think he infuses the burley with coffee but don't hold me to that. It leaves a bit of goop in the bowl but nothing a swipe with a paper towel can't fix. YMMV

Active Club In Killeen, TX Area

The Waco Pipe club meets, or used to meet, in McGregor. Which will probably be closest to Killeen. Not sure now with the Covid.

    Polishing Smooth Pipes

Yes sir. I apply it with a wheel but it kinda gunks up a bit leaving obvious streaks of the wax on the pipe. I have to finish the polishing with a soft cloth. It all works out but I prefer the jarred wax. Probably putting too much on the wheel.

1st Estate Pipe Purchase Has a Demon of a Lakeland Ghost!

Cotton balls stuffed into the bowl, drenched in high test everclear and left overnight is the treatment I use on all the estates I have purchased. It has worked well for me but I am not sure if I have ever had one as badly ghosted with Lakeland essence as the one mentioned above. Sorry to hear...

    Polishing Smooth Pipes

I can never get carnuba to apply smoothly, so I use either Paragon or Halcyon waxes on my pipes depending on whether they are smooth or rusticated.

    Elizabethan Mixture Review

    Thank you.

    Matches vs. Lighters

I love matches, but only for the first light indoors. After that when I am outdoors it has to be my Zippo pipe lighter. Matches are just not for outdoors.

    Peterson Nightcap is Delicious!

I once bought a jar of Nightcap the owner said had been aging a long time (15 years). I could not tell any difference between that jarred and aged Nightcap and a tin of Dunhill 2017, but my taste buds are not very refined.

H&H Black House: Old vs. Newer

Black House is one of my vaves, but I do not have any with age yet. I will have to be satisfied with the fresh for now.

Jim's Sutliff Cringle Flake (Holiday Edition 2020) Review.

I have a couple tins I have yet to crack. I tend to lean toward any tobacco Jimimks rates 4 stars so I gotta get to it.

    Elizabethan Mixture Review

    Thank you sir.
